SOCCER CHALLENGE 2021

FREE COMPETITION

 

All boys and girls ages 6 and under through 18 are invited to participate in the local competition for the 2021 Knights of Columbus Soccer Challenge. 

 

This FREE competition will be held on September 16, 2021, from 9am-11:30am

Blakes Venture Soccer Fields

1514 Melrose Ln, Forest Hill, MD 21050. 

Rain date is October 15th, same time and location. 

THE CONTEST
Each contestant is scored on the following:
 

• 5 penalty kicks at a regulation goal divided into five scoring zones 

• 3 throw-ins measured for distance and accuracy 

• 3 kicks for distance also measured for distance and accuracy 

 

Who is Eligible 

• Girls and boys ages 6 and under, 7-8, 9-10, 11-12, 13-14, and 15-18 (a total of twelve divisions) 

• Under 6-10 use size #4 ball 

• 12-18 use size #5 ball 

• Age eligibility is determined by the age as of September 1st

The Reward 

Boys and girls will compete in their respective age divisions and medals will be awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners in each of the 6 divisions. 

Winners may advance to the next level of competition. The Knights of Columbus Soccer Challenge is sponsored annually, with the winners progressing through local, district and state competitions. International champions are announced by Knights of Columbus International Headquarters based in New Haven, CT on the scores from the state-level competitions. 

 

So that we can have an idea for the number of participants, please pre-register here by providing the participant's name, gender and age in order to aid us in starting the event on time. Participants will be required to submit a written parental consent and entry form on the day of the challenge. Click this link to download the entry form. NOTE: All winners will be required to submit a photocopy of their birth certificate to advance to district and state events. 

 

EXTRA, EXTRA: The Knights of Columbus, St. Ignatius, Hickory are also holding a Coats for Kids Campaign. If you would like to donate a coat in good condition (i.e. no need of repair), we will be accepting them at the Soccer Challenge.
