Serving St. Ignatius Parish and Harford County Since 1988
St. Ignatius Council 9729 is a brotherhood of Catholic men committed to serving God, our parish, our families, and our community through faith-filled action. Since our founding in 1988, we have worked alongside the parishioners of St. Ignatius Church in Hickory to support charitable causes, strengthen family life, and answer Christ’s call to serve others.

As members of the Knights of Columbus, we are part of a worldwide Catholic organization founded on the principles of Charity, Unity, Fraternity, and Patriotism. These principles guide everything we do—from supporting parish ministries and community outreach programs to organizing family events and charitable fundraisers.
Our Mission
Our mission is to put our faith into action.
Through volunteer service, charitable giving, and active participation in parish life, we strive to make a positive impact in the lives of those around us. Whether supporting a local family in need, helping at a parish event, collecting food for area food banks, or participating in county-wide Knights of Columbus initiatives, our goal remains the same: to serve with compassion, humility, and purpose.
Faith in Action
Being a Knight is about more than attending meetings. It is about living our Catholic faith through service.
Throughout the year, our members support St. Ignatius Parish through volunteer efforts, parish events, and community programs that strengthen both our church and the broader Harford County community. We work together to provide assistance where it is needed most while fostering a spirit of fellowship among our members and their families.

A Brotherhood of Service
One of the greatest strengths of our council is the friendship and support shared among our members. Men of all ages and backgrounds come together with a common purpose—to grow in faith, support one another, and serve others.
The relationships formed through the Knights of Columbus often extend beyond council activities, creating lasting friendships rooted in faith, family, and community.

Our Principles

Charity
The first principle of the Knights of Columbus is charity. We are called to love our neighbors and put that love into action through service and support for those in need.
Unity
Working together allows us to accomplish far more than any one individual can achieve alone.
Fraternity
We support one another as brothers in Christ, strengthening our faith and helping each other through life’s challenges.
Patriotism
We proudly serve our country and communities while promoting responsible citizenship and respect for the freedoms we enjoy.
